When I saw it, it seemed to have a familiar style, so I have published it.

Do you mean to say that there is no evidence that the litigation I described actually took place? In those things, he resembles Federici. As for his methods, I can't figure them out. His "fairstart" program is very sensible, suggesting that you not leave the babies in their cribs all the time if you want more typical development-- this is not exactly a radical conclusion. But I haven't been able to find what he does as therapy for older children, particularly the ones that feature in his scare stories about cutting up rabbits with scissors (which I would think would be quite difficult, given that I need poultry shears to cut up a chicken). Can you fill me in on this any further?

I see only one professional publication from Rygaard other than the book. A review of the book was mildly approving.Jean Mercerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14619393019771381980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2743746633913926150.post-69598607316639285382014-05-31T21:40:39.835-04:002014-05-31T21:40:39.835-04:00Thanks for this info.

Could Federici really imagine that it;s related to holding therapy? Then there was his attempted grabbing of the term "floortime" from DIR. I can't tell whether he doesn't know these things, or whether he just assumes that readers don't know them.Jean Mercerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14619393019771381980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2743746633913926150.post-19463032118280674352014-05-30T11:35:36.266-04:002014-05-30T11:35:36.266-04:00Federici likes to dismiss critics with straw man a...Federici likes to dismiss critics with straw man arguments. He used this one at a presentation at the 2004 ATTACh Conference:

"You know, there’s a group out there. I don’t know where they come off. They’re really against what they call “touch therapy.”… [S]ome people get way to the extreme.… Advocates for Children in Therapy…said no child should ever be touched, never be held, never be cradled, and all this touch therapy, touch point therapy, or whatever, is wrong. And you know I’m thinking, if you’ve got a kid who’s never had any human contact, you’d better do something to get them on the pathways soon. So those kind of approaches are appropriate …"

And this is the Advocates for Children in Therapy webpage that Federici claims violates his copyright:

http://www.childrenintherapy.org/proponents/federici.html

LindaRosaRNhttp://www.childrenintherapy.orgnoreply@blogger.com
